How we design your system

We design your solar panels before we ever knock on your roof.

Eco2u design every system in OpenSolar, the software used across the industry for exactly this. From your address we can model the roof, simulate a year of shading and forecast what the array would generate, then send you a proposal to read in your own time. Home surveys are still available on request.

1

We start with your roof, not a template

Your address gives us high-resolution aerial imagery of the actual building. We trace the roof planes, the pitch and the orientation from that, so the design is your house rather than a typical one.

2

The roof is built in 3D

Chimneys, dormers, vents and rooflights all go into the model. That is what decides how many panels actually fit and where they can sit, before anyone quotes you a number.

A year of shadows, simulated

The software runs the sun across your roof through every hour of the year, including the shade thrown by your own chimney and by anything nearby. Panels that would spend winter afternoons in shadow get moved or dropped.

Generation, month by month

The result is a forecast for the specific array on your specific roof, not a national average. Put your annual usage alongside it and you can see how much of what you generate you would actually use.

Your proposal, in writing

Layout, equipment, generation forecast and price, sent over for you to read at your own pace. No appointment, no one in your living room, and nothing to sign on the day.

Why we do it this way

No waiting in

No half-day slot and no rescheduling. Most proposals go out within 48 hours of the enquiry, often the same day.

No one in your house

The design happens before anyone knocks. If a visit is genuinely needed we will say so, and you can always ask for one.

A keener price

A remote survey costs us a fraction of sending someone out, and that difference goes into the quote rather than into our overheads.

Time to think

You read the proposal on your own, without a salesperson sitting opposite waiting for an answer.

What we need from you

Two things, and the second one is optional.

  • Your address

That is what the aerial imagery and the roof model come from.

  • Roughly what you use

Your annual electricity usage in kWh or pounds a year. It is on your latest bill, and a rough figure is fine.

  • A photo of the roof, if you have one

Not essential. A satellite screenshot from Google Maps is plenty, and it helps us spot anything the imagery has missed.

Or call 01772 357022 and we will take the details over the phone.
